Catching Up

A death in the family has put me off my writing schedule for a couple of weeks here.  In the meantime enjoy these two fine pieces of writing by some of the most talented authors I’ve ever seen.

Lana Polansky explores the history of both the term altgames and the movment.  It’s a great review of the history of alt-games but also an excellent primer on the danger of labels and how quickly they can be co-opted if not careful.

On a lighter note, in 2006 John Scalzi figured out everything that was wrong with the Star Wars movies in one short post.  I won’t name names but he lays the blame squarely on the shoulders of one man who’s initials start with George Lucas.

More substance from me personally next week.  I promise.  See you there.
